Road Trippin'

The Prom Date (Line Up Sheet)

I did most of this on the train and during my 'History of Animation' class.
I was working in bumpy conditions and half-light, which is why the final result looks
so terrible.
(That's my story and I'm sticking to it).

WIP2: DONE!!

A very challenging project, but I'm very pleased with the final result.

WIP2: Rough Colours

It took forever, but I finally got a colour scheme that I'm super excited about.
Currently in the process of cleaning up the colours, seperating them into base and overlay colours. Then it's final effects, texts and I can submit this beast. Woot!

WIP2: Grey Scale

This one is turning into a really tough challenge. 6 hours and I'm having a lot of problems getting a working colour scheme. I was about to go to bed, when it hit me that I should work out the greyscale before I give up for the night. Of course, then I realized that I should have done a greyscale FIRST! Once the tonal patterns are worked out, it should be a piece of cake to get the colours done. Just pick a strategy and then match it tonally. It should work because the darkest darks and lightest lights have already been figured out. Now all I have to do is use appropriate contrasting/complementary colours.
Next step: Final Colours.

WIP2: Final Lines

Just finished the final pencil lines. Onto digital cleanup and paints. Yay!

WIP 2: Rough Pencils

Just finished the rough pencil lines. The information text will be added via Photoshop once I get it painted.
Onto final lines...

Work In Progress 2: Thumbnail

Hey all,

This is another first in a series of WIP's for a Seneca Poster Competition. The theme is called 'Speak Out' and will include some tremendous Canadian poets. The submission date is tomorrow, so I've gotta move pretty quickly through the phases of production.
This is the preliminary thumbnail drawing of the poster concept.

The great thing about doing daily sketches is that when you want to improve your painting skills you have a stack of working compositions that you can just load into photoshop and practise.
